Creation proclaims His name.
His fingerprint is evident as we gaze around. It’s in the mountains as they declare his majesty. The waters in their depth and mystery. And especially in the sun.
The sun provides its rays to cast visibility for those walking in darkness. Its warmth comforts the cold and grieving. And it gives growth as our bodies absorb Vitamin D, boosting our capacity to withstand sickness.
This is but a dim representation of Jesus, who declares in John 8, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
We have the privilege of knowing that the same God who created the sun and wove parts of His character into it is the same God who sees us. His word is light unto our path. He is the God of all comforts and our guard. How can we forget when He has surrounded us with such great reminders?
The earth is brimming with shallow comfort, devastation, and convincing voices that our attention is deserved elsewhere. The enemy of our souls is devious and destructive, wanting our attention to be diverted from truth. Yet, creation actually sings a different song worth noticing.
Our prayer today is that the distractions of this world would fade away and the beauty of Christ Jesus would be amplified as we take in our surroundings and breathe deeply, knowing that He is near. Our warmth, our comfort, our joy.
