A Jesus Mission

Roelof Beetge

Missionary | Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

As a native of South Africa, I began my full-time missions work with Samaria Mission there. It was during this time that I met a red-head from Texas, Stephanie, who was in country on a short-term missions assignment. It didn’t take too long to ask her to be my wife! We now have 2 kids, Jubilee (age 11) and Josiah “JoJo” (age 8). Stephanie works as an elementary teacher at The University School of Colorado Springs. Jubilee spends her time in dance classes and JoJo loves his ice hockey team. As a family, we enjoy spending time together outdoors taking in God’s creation here in Colorado!

JAARS is a ministry (located in North Carolina) which exists to train, equip, deploy and sustain individuals, teams and stations to aid in the work of proclaiming the gospel to the world. JAARS is affiliated with Wycliffe Bible Translators (SIL), as well as 162 other Christian organizations.

I have been called to join JAARS to enhance the work already in place as we will be training workers to operate safely in diverse and challenging conditions and different cultures around the globe. My work will help equip missionaries and ministries with the tools, infrastructure and training needed to reduce barriers to delivering God’s word to His people. Specifically, I will lead our efforts with all Land and Maritime assets. This includes supplying vehicles (boats, trucks, motorbikes, etc), and supporting team members and ministry partners in training for asset use and maintenance, as well as meeting other needs to erase barriers to getting the gospel to God’s people in extremely remote areas. In addition, I will lead our efforts to analyze needs and maximize efficiency.
