Makayla Jones

The Lord captured my heart using an unlikely source. A lesbian couple had shared about the love of Jesus and my young self instantly connected. In order to support my newly found joy my mom found a church for us to attend and soon was saved herself. I’ve spent my adolescence trying to figure out how to continue to grow in that relationship. A lot of it included the Holy Spirit weeding out a sense of self-righteousness, discovering a deep passion to serve others, and learning that walking with The Lord requires a surrender of judgement and a large dose of humility. As I’ve entered into my adult years I’ve seen God cultivate a tender heart and a push to better utilize my gifts to bring him glory. 

After meeting our executive team and seeing their willingness to live a life focused on equipping the found and finding the lost I knew that A Jesus Mission was a great place to do this. Having a knack for administration and organization I found myself working alongside the admin team. I now am the Human Resources Director and work with future missionaries who want to use their unique characteristics and interests to share The Gospel. It’s an honor to meet others with hearts on fire and to see how God uses all of us to further His Kingdom.
