Coming from a background of agnosticism, for many years I felt I would never truly know if God exists. I was focused on worldly desires, living for whatever pleasure I could find. I felt empty, depressed, lonely, and was clearly longing for a connection that went beyond what I was finding. In that place, the Lord sent someone who became a brother to me, who sat with me in this dark place. This man invited me to a house church, where I found genuine believers in Christ who likewise loved me and showed me the truth of who Jesus is. Some believers there tackled my doubts and introduced me to apologetics, writings that defend the faith from many lenses (e.g., philosophy/history/
For a while this was just an intellectual following and lacked real submission to His ways, but over time the Lord got through to me. The point in which everything changed dramatically began with the Lord telling me to move into the AJM missionary base in Oakdale, CA. When you read the verse in Psalms that says “your rod and your staff they comfort me”; well, this was the rod at work. My selfishness, lack of service, and ultimately my lack of love for others was rooted out over a couple years as many of the believers poured into and sharpened me.
After years of growth, I am now part of a team of missionaries that has sacrificially dedicate their time, money, and energy into the ministry of Kingdom Coffee. We are all volunteers, working hard to give all the money away to missions around the globe, using the simple fact that we do not get paid for the work to give room for the gospel to be spread. At the time of this writing, we are a little over a month in to this ministry. Lord willing, this ministry will be used for His glory and bring many towards His love and grace. Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and may God bless you throughout your days.
