There are indigenous missionaries in South Asia doing extraordinary anti-trafficking work that most people in the United States will never hear about because they have yet to build a strong infrastructure to share the stories of transformation.
My name is Pedro Gonzalez. I’m a missionary with A Jesus Mission based in Modesto, California. I’m heading to South Asia in late 2026, and I want to tell you exactly what I’m going to do when I get there.
I’m joining an indigenous-led ministry that intercepts trafficking victims at border checkpoints, runs safe homes for vulnerable children, and operates sustainable businesses — a school, a garment factory, a bakery, a printing press, a women’s cooperative — designed to fund their work independent of donors.
They have an existing community of supporters and a story worth telling.
What they don’t have is the communications infrastructure that connects their work to the people who would deepen their support if they only knew what they were building. Every day that gap exists, the work is more fragile than it needs to be.
Your monthly support funds me to embed with this team and build the storytelling systems, donor relationship tools, and organizational bridge between this indigenous-led organization and the Western Church that lets them raise their own support and expand their sustainability projects. I’m not going to South Asia to do the work they’re already doing. I’m joining their team to build the systems that help them do it with the support they deserve.
Where I am: I’m $3,185/month away from being fully funded and on a plane to South Asia. Every partner closes that gap.
Ready to give: Become a monthly partner today. Every gift at any level moves the needle closer to leaving for South Asia.
