Eddie Pelaez
Missionary | Lapu Lapu city cebu, Philippines

Eddie came to know the Lord in a time of personal struggle. At 21, after a conflict with his father, he left his home in Mindanao and moved to Cebu City. There he was involved with drugs and bad influences. While visiting his roommate’s family, Eddie heard the Gospel for the first time. Over the next several weeks he was discipled by his roommate’s cousin through the book of John. His roommate’s cousin also invited Eddie to come observe him share the Gospel with those in need. After some time, God revealed to Eddie “apart from me you can do nothing”. It was then Eddie accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
Since his conversion, Eddie has devoted his life to serving the most vulnerable in society, particularly in the squatter areas of Mindanao. He ministers to over 500 children in four squatter communities, where poverty, crime, and drug abuse are rampant. Despite the challenging environment—muddy streets, swamps, and frequent violence—Eddie sees these people as part of his extended family. He believes that the love of Jesus transcends these harsh conditions, and he is committed to bringing Christ’s message of hope to those who need it most.
In addition to his work in the squatter areas, Eddie also serves in various other ministries. He teaches moral values to college and junior high students in public schools every week, ministers to the poorest of the poor through the government’s 4P’s program, and regularly engages in street evangelism in the public markets. He is also actively involved in pulpit ministry, sharing the Gospel with others and providing spiritual guidance.
One of his greatest passions is reaching the unreached tribes in Mindanao, where he brings the Gospel to areas that have not yet heard the good news of Jesus Christ. Through all these ministries, his focus remains on evangelism, discipleship, and empowering individuals to live for God by the power of the Holy Spirit.
